FACES BEHIND MASKS

In EVERY BODY HAPPY I transformed a number of well-known clichés about he Dutch .
The clichés are the cunning Dutch face, the clog transformed into a chilm, the mills became windmills. The illusion of prosperity and peace prevails in this country. I symbolize that illusion with the inverted Christmas tree, bubbling up like smoke from the pipe.
Everybody happy!
EVERY BODY HAPPY, oil on canvas 100 x 100 cm
JAPANESE SOCIETY
This painting consists of two faces that look at each other in profile.
On the left the man, on the right the woman. Together they form a face.
The face expresses the work mentality of Japanese society.
FACES BEHIND MASKS
Thinking is analyzing and interpreting, but also constantly talking within yourself. The inner murmur about everything from the past and how it could or should be and happen.
That is what you are for yourself.
Who you think you are.
Our true face is hidden behind the mask that we wear to hide our weaknesses, frustrations and sorrows.
In my paintings I look behind the face of the outside world, both of the individual and of the social.
